per quanto riguarda il costo della spedizione, c'è qualcosadi strano perché, stando al sito delle poste indiane, il costo di una busta da 20 grammi per l'Italia sarebbe di 1.112 rupie, equivalenti a ben 16,64 dollari americani.

Deve però trattarsi di un servizio speciale, perché questo altro sito (http://www.indianphilately.net/intlpostalrates.html) dice che una lettera via mare costa 20 rupie e la soprattassa aerea 4, pari a un totale di 36 centesimi di dollaro.

Faresti meglio a indagare ulteriormente.

per il testo, ti suggerisco alcune piccole modifiche:

I would be very grateful if you could frank the enclosed self-addressed envelope, neatly hand-cancel it and send it to me.
I would greatly appreciate a second cancellation on the front of the envelope, clear of the stamps.
As far as I know, the postal rate to Italy is xxx Rs, so I enclose yyy US$ to cover the cost of the stamps.

Cerco di sapere quanto costa dall' India all' Italia una prioritaria ( sempre che in India esista la prioritaria come da noi ) .

Se vado alla posta dove abito provo a chiedere per una lettera ( 20 grammi ) dall' India quanto costa ....ma di sicuro non lo sapranno.

16,64 dollari ? alla faccia , su 6 dollari su tre buste ( 2 per busta ) me ne hanno restituiti 2 dagli U.S.A. .

Se ho ben capito, la prioritaria dall' Italia è Azona 2 , costerebbe 4,50 euro , al limite gli inserisco 5 Dollari .
