Ciao a tutti
Sapete i termini tedeschi per i seguenti tipi di carta?
Ne ho scordato sicuramente qualcuno, potreste integrare in italiano (ed eventualmente in francese)?
- A macchina: maschinenpapier
- Leggermente vergata (batonneé): gestabtes papier
- Costolata (côtelé): geripptes papier
Grazie!
Hello Andrea!
I can tell you the following about this:
Foulage: The numerical value or the designation of the value were soldered in too high and pressed so firmly into the paper during printing that they are clearly visible on the back.
The table shows an overview of the occurrence of the different types on HP (handmade paper) and MP (machine paper)

The ribbing is always applied vertically. Pieces ribbed horizontally are counterfeits. Strong ribbing can already be seen from the interrupted stamp marks.
This is also usually a sign of authenticity.
The rib can be lost with hot washing. If there are 30 ribs per 2 cm, it is called ripped paper. If there are 20 ribs per 2 cm, it is called batonneé.
regards
Bernhard
