1931 - Posta Aerea per il Sig. Bolaffi!

Oggi al mercatino non c'era quasi nulla di interessante tant'è che ho diretto i miei acquisti sulle
cartoline paesaggistiche antiche di Bari.

Poi uscendo su un banchetto che vendeva solo numismatica c'erano buttate lì alcune cartoline.

Le ho guardate, ho chiesto, tutte a 1 euro l'una.

ho preso questa forse più atratto dall'affrancatura meccanica che dagli altri bolli.

Poi cercando in rete ho trovato roba similare venduta a prezzi molto più alti.

Qualcuno sa dirmi qualche lume e un pò di notizie ?

il fatto che sia indirizzata a Bolaffi ovviamente mi dà di costruito ad hoc !

E' strano, almeno per me, che abbia 2 annulli a Berlino a Monaco a distanza di poche ore uno dall'altro.
L'aereo partito da Amburgo il 27 ha fatto quindi scalo a Berlino e poi a Monaco il 28 ed infine a Torino?

io ti dico il poco che ne ricavo, in attesa di pareri più esperti.

Mophila è l'abbreviazione di Moderne Philatelie. Il timbro che annulla il francobollo principale è della manifestazione filatelica ad Amburgo, stesso discorso per la targhetta rossa dedicata. Evidentemente era abbinato un volo (Timbro di posta aerea Mophila luftpost che annulla il francobollo di posta aerea). Vedo poi due annulli di transito, sempre dell'ufficio di posta aerea, a Berlino e Monaco di Baviera, oltre al timbro di posta ordinaria sempre di Monaco, da dove evidentemente la lettera ha proseguito via terra. Al retro tu saprai se c'è un timbro di arrivo in Italia.

MOPHILA was part of the "Movement" to modernize the pilately.

You can say all of todays beside "Filatelia tradizionale" are children of the "Moderne Philateliy" movement.
They were not an global "organization" - I think the 1930ties were the right time to open Philatelie for new collecting ideas.

In this years we find the first cancel collectors (in Italy you have the Moschetti Catalogue), the first "thematics" (sorry, I'm not fit in thematics philately, so I can not give you an example), aerophilateliy ("Konsul" Sieger, who started as the curator of the postal Museum in Liechtenstein but got "great" with his abonement service on Zeppelin and other first flights ...

Your card nust have a philatelic background (o.k. you have guessed that from the Bolaffi adresse) - a "Zero" "affrancatura meccanicchi" is not usual for a "company opperated machine" and against the rules for an "post operated machine". As far a I know the "MOPHILA" was operated by the post - there are some "special affrancatura meccanicchi" in that period (for some of the philatelistic meetings).

MOPHILA in HAMBURG is still existing (as an brand for exhibitions like WIPA in Vienna or Milanofil) the last one was two or three years ago and very small (only as Rang III) but there exists a book on all MOPHILA exhibitions. (Wolfgang Harms:
Von der ‘Mophila 1931’ in Hamburg bis zum ‘Preis Moderne Philatelie’ 1997 : die Geschichte der ‘Modernen Philatelie’ national und international bis 2012).

Looking on you card (the name Giulio - there is a Giulio in the Bolaffi family as far as I remember) indicates that either an Italian was in Hamburg - or one of the the German "Julius" writes to his friend. I tend to first - MOPHILA '31 was not liked by the established philatelists, but they had contacts all over the world to people with similar ideas.

One of there slogans was (and is) "Philatelie aus dem Papierkorb" (philately from the waste basket) meaning that you should take the letters you find in your (or your frinds) mail and take them - they are cheaper than buying "Anticchi stati" but tell the same fascinating stories (if you can see them).

Almost 100% sure that the card was written by Giulio Bolaffi to his father Alberto.

Bè se l'hai pagata un euro hai fatto un bell'affare. Anche se è filatelica rappresenta un bel pezzo di storia della filatelia essendo manoscritta da un Bolaffi!
